Recent London PCN hotspots that PCO drivers need to know

Otto Car is here to help PCO drivers maximise their hard-earned income. In this article, we reveal the worst London hotspots where drivers got PCNs recently in September.

The main trend of the top 10 PCNs is the speed reduction catching drivers out, e.g. the speed cameras on A40 Westway, and the variable speed cameras on Smart Motorways.

Here are the top 10 spots to watch out for:

1. A40 Westway

The number one PCN hotspot in September was the A40 Westway, with three main spots:

Near Terrick Street to near Paddington Green eastbound
Near Terrick Street to Westbourne Bridge Slip eastbound
Near North Wharf Road to Bramley Road westbound

The speed limit was reduced from 40mph to 30mph back in 2020, and it’s now set at 30mph permanently.

We’ve got many more tickets from this spot in October, please check the speed limit and don’t get caught out.

2. A406 Beechwood Avenue

What comes next is the A406 junction Beechwood Avenue to near off slip A1000 Finchley High Road eastbound, and the speed limit is 50mph.

3. A40 Long Drive

The next PCN hotspot is once again on A40. From near Long Drive to near Welland Gardens eastbound there are average speed limit cameras with a limit of 40mph.

4. A21 Southend Lane

We’ve got a number of tickets from Southend Lane between the Bromley Road and Dunfield Road junctions eastbound. The speed limit is 20mph.

5. A41 Queens Grove

Finchley Road near Queens Grove northbound is another hotspot where drivers get speeding tickets. Please note that the speed limit is 20mph.

6. A4202 Park Lane

The speed limit on Park Lane near Mount Street northbound is 20mph.

7. M11

The speed camera on M11 near Luxborough Lane Road Bridge, Chigwell caught our attention. Please note that the speed limit is 50mph.

8. M25 South West

There are a number of variable speed cameras on M25 e.g. Junction 24-23 50mph anti-clockwise Hertfordshire. Please make sure to check the speed signs when you’re on a Smart Motorway.

9. A13 Commercial Road

The speed limit is 20mph on Commercial Road near Steels Lane eastbound.

10. A3212 Embankment

We’re getting more and more tickets from the speed camera on Chelsea Embankment near Cheyne Walk eastbound. Please note, the speed limit is 20mph.
