How to claim your £3,500 Uber EV Assistance
- The Otto Team
- March 17, 2025

The Uber EV Assistance is here to help you as a London-based non-EV PCO driver to make the switch to electric at the lowest possible cost. Whether you’re looking to buy or rent, this limited-time offer can save you thousands on your next car.
Eligible Uber partners can claim £3,500 EV Assistance on our Rent to Buy or PCO Car Hire plans if you apply by 31 March 2025.
Due to high demand, Uber has extended the deadline to 30 September 2025, but the funding will be reduced to £3,500 to £3,000. That means waiting too long to claim could cost you at least £500.
With Uber’s goal of a fully electric fleet by the end of 2025, now is the time to make the switch and secure an affordable EV.

What’s the Uber PowerUp Package?
Uber introduced the PowerUp Package to help make the switch to electric easier and more affordable. As part of this, eligible drivers can claim £3,500 in EV Assistance which is available until 31 March 2025.
Whether you’re looking for a brand-new EV or a reliable used one at a cheaper price, this grant can help cut the costs. Plus, as a trusted Uber partner, you can claim it directly with us at Otto Car, and we’ll make sure it’s a hassle-free experience for you.
What’s included in the EV Assistance?
- You can get a £3,500 top-up of EV Assistance to switch to electric on a new or used EV. Plus, if you already have EV Assistance from the Uber Clean Air Plan, they’ll boost this to £3,500 until 31 March.
- £750 of free charging credits with bp pulse if you’re one of the first 8,000 active Uber drivers to subscribe. That’s £250 of free charging credits per month. If you use more than £250, you’ll be charged bp pulse’s lowest EV charging rates for the rest of the month.
Full terms and conditions can be found on our Uber EV Assistance page.
Who’s eligible for the £3,500 EV Assistance top-up?
To be eligible for £3,500 EV Assistance, you must have:
- Completed less than 50 EV trips in an active EV on your Uber account between 1 June and 1 December 2024.
- An EV added to your account (owning or renting) by 31 March 2025
- Not previously used your EV Assistance to purchase an EV and switched back to a non-EV
- Not used your EV Assistance to buy an EV or used your full EV Assistance and then switched back to a non-EV.
If you’re claiming your EV Assistance from 1 April, you’ll be eligible for £3,000 and must have:
- Completed less than 50 EV trips in an active EV on your Uber account in the 6 months before 1 April 2025.
- An updated EV added to your account by 30 September 2025.
- Not used your EV Assistance to buy an EV or used your full EV Assistance and then switched back to a non-EV.

How can I use my EV Assistance with Otto Car?
Buying a car
As an eligible Uber partner, you can use your full EV Assistance to reduce your weekly payments on a Rent to Buy plan* with Otto Car, making your path to car ownership even more affordable.
For certain vehicles on our Rent to Buy plan, you also have the option to apply your EV Assistance to cover the first 47 weeks of your contract, giving you lower payments upfront. Once this period ends, your weekly payments will return to the standard full price for the rest of your contract.
With Uber-exclusive discounts available on select vehicles until 31 March, you can drive your savings further by combining this with your EV Assistance.

Renting a car
If you’d prefer to rent an EV, you can claim your £75 per week in EV Assistance on a minimum 10-week PCO Car Hire contract.
Once your EV Assistance runs out, your weekly payments will continue at the standard rate for the rest of your contract.

How can I find out how much EV Assistance I have?
You should get email updates every month with the amount of EV Assistance funding you’ve built up. Try to search for ‘EV Assistance’ in your email inbox.
If you don’t have an email, there’s an online form on the Uber website where you can submit your details and they’ll get in touch to let you know how much EV Assistance you may be eligible for.
